SanKai Sushi Seattle: Nakano Legacy continues

For more than a quarter century now, a coveted seat at Nakano’s sushi bar can give you a homemade sushi experience. Nakano-san honed his craft for a decade at I Love Sushi on South Lake Union and later at Kisaku.

SanKai, which translates to mountain/sea, is what gives Nakano a fresh vision of the place. Since then, he has continued to make people know more and more about Japanese food and traditions. The chef and owner is a native of Takayama in the Japan Alps. But now a WA resident, Nakano works with his wife, Yuka, and their son, Toru. Together, they have created SanKai, a place that invites you for a surreal dining experience with your family or even for a date night.

What’s so special about SanKai?

SanKai Sushi Seattle Menu

SanKai has a surprising seasonal tasting menu prepared with daily delicacies from the earth and the sea. For example, SanKai sushi has a more sushi-oriented menu, whereas Nagaya signature tells the story of kaiseki cuisine.

Let’s see some tryouts for lunch and dinner

Lunch at SanKai has its forms. You can choose from chilled delights to sizzling hot temptations. It has textures and tastes designed to make your midday food moments happy. The lunch menu is intricately designed for varying tastes and made with fine culinary craftsmanship.

Something extra fancy

SanKai Sushi Seattle

They give you a complimentary transfer with the BMW i7. In this, you make a grand entrance to SanKai by Nagaya with their complimentary private BMW i7 ride service. There are options like whether you need a ride to or from SanKai by Nagaya, our fully electric BMW i7, and a private chauffeur. This fancy feature is available through booking, and it provides you with a guilt-free and seamless travel experience.

Accommodating features

The restaurant itself is charming. It is newly decorated and has a great sushi bar and very private tables separated by curtains. It’s a cozy spot with a relaxed atmosphere, and the seating is around 30 and is made of natural wood accents. One thing you can note is that SanKai is a small restaurant, and if you have children (babies) with you, they need to be accounted for in the reservation. Also, if you need seating/highchairs for them, please let them know in advance.

In conclusion

To sum up the above, good sushi is hard to find, even in Japan. It has to be very fresh and is likely to be very expensive. But in Seattle itself, if you want to have authentic taste and some really good sushi at affordable prices, then give it at SanKai. The place is nice, with warm staff and good eating options.
