Planning a special dinner? Want to choose a special venue to host your special? Well, Oriole in Chicago is the answer! It is an upscale restaurant that gives equal attention to presentation and flavor. One of the best American restaurants in Chicago, you can anticipate first-rate service that never feels intrusive. In addition, it is a prestigious location that consistently exudes a sense of wealth in fine cuisine.

The award-winning tasting menu at Oriole, a modern American eatery in Chicago’s West Loop, is created by Executive Chef and Owner Noah Sandoval. Oriole has consistently gotten two Michelin stars since its debut in 2016, and it most recently won the Jean Banchet Award for Restaurant of the Year. Chef Sandoval was designated one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs in 2017 and is a James Beard nominee. The chef provides a satisfying tasting selection that is always changing.

A Look Inside

Chef and proprietor Noah Sandoval demonstrated that gluten-free cuisine could be gourmet with the Michelin-starred Senza. To that end, he shows that his food is accessible to all tastes, with his current foray into Chicago’s thriving dining scene.

Oriole Chicago is located in the West Loop, and Sandoval has the freedom to explore and be inventive, thanks to the tasting menu-only policy. With only 28 seats, the restaurant is incredibly cozy, and every customer can see what’s happening in the open kitchen.

Each course on the tasting menu comes with two pairing choices and costs $175 per person. Sommelier Aaron McManus created both, with the first pairing exclusively wine costing $75 and the second costing $125. The first includes mixed beverages of wine, beer, and sake.

Beverages and Wines at Oriole

Oriole Chicago provides a selection of drinks, including concoctions made by Julia Momose of Bar Kumiko and an old-world-inspired white wine-focused wine list chosen by Beverage Director Emily Rosenfeld.

There are also three pairing choices available to go with your meal. Both a normal coupling with wine and saké to go with the chefs’ creations and a reserve pairing with special wines from older vintages, renowned producers, and rarer bottles are curated by Emily Rosenfeld. Additionally, a Julia Momose-designed spirit-free pairing offers inventive, non-alcoholic drinks specially crafted to go well with the cuisine.
